Amazon would start selling cannabis? It’s not as far-fetched as it sounds because national e-commerce would be a reality after federal legalization. Recent comments from the House Majority Leader Chuck Schumer indicate that the nationwide legalization is a probability, not just a possibility.
The MORE Act contains legislation that helps rectify some of the damage done to specific segments and communities in the United States. Specifically, social equity directives will help undo or offer reparation to communities disproportionately impacted by the “War on Drugs”. Including mass expungement and early release for Americans incarcerated for personal-use cannabis ‘crimes’.
How will federal legalization change business for MSOs (multi-state operators) in terms of competition? Now Florida has some significant concerns about smokable marijuana. Some new procedures for doctors that refer a patient to OMMU, the Office of Medical Marijuana Use, are more complicated.
In the past, certified Florida doctors were able to complete marijuana card health evaluations through telemedicine. Since June of 2021, telemedicine is no longer permitted.
Doctors are now required to meet in person with patients. On multiple occasions, so that there is an established relationship between the doctor and patient before the medical card application is prepared.
