Marijuana News Roundup

Some exciting marijuana news this week! Beyonce states in an interview that she is a new and huge fan of CBD. In fact, she may be going into the CBD business and teases that she has both plants and honey hives on the roof of her house.

Talking about growing things, did you know that CBD could help you address thinning hair? We’ve got an infographic with some cannabidiol hair product recipes you can make at home.

We ask why Southern states seem reluctant to legalize medical marijuana. And when they do, some states create low-THC programs that don’t help patients with severe symptoms. And why military veterans in North Carolina have organized a new coalition for legalization.

This is your weekend round-up for August 20, 2021, from marijuanadoctors.com.

Beyonce Says CBD is Her New Best Friend

If you have watched an interview with Beyonce, you know that she is a little shy. And the megastar admits to having problems with anxiety in social situations. During her last strenuous “Formation World Tour,” she shared with Harper’s Bazaar that she experienced problems with pain and inflammation.

In the new August 10, 2021, interview, Beyonce shares about her discovery and use of therapeutic cannabidiol. And how she creates rituals of peace, self-care, and relaxation with CBD:

“During quarantine, I went from overindulgences to creating positive rituals drawing from past generations and putting my own spin on things. I discovered CBD on my last tour, and I’ve experienced its benefits for soreness and inflammation. It helped with my restless nights and the agitation that comes from not being able to fall asleep. I found healing properties in honey that benefit me and my children.”

The superstar claimed that she is currently building a hemp farm. Beyonce teased the idea of a new celebrity brand of hemp self-care products, including bath oils. No doubt the “B-Hive” will be lining up to buy them when her new product line launches. Beyonce could become the “Queen B” of CBD in the United States.

Why Do Southern States Resist Legalizing Cannabis?

Nothing seems more frightening to lawmakers in Southern states than legalizing cannabis. And while legalization of recreational cannabis (adult-use) may present some legitimate concerns for regulators, providing compassionate care options for patients? That should be a no-brainer.

(CANVA)

There is a lot to learn about the effect of cannabis on the body. But the research that has been conducted to date does show a great deal of promise. Cannabis could be a much safer alternative to opioid medications for chronic pain, for example. An option that would not expose patients to the hazards of long-term opioid use, such as addiction, overdose potential, mood disorders, and ischemic liver injury.

Is the resistance to legalizing cannabis in some of the stronghold southern states based on medical facts or political and racial rhetoric? Or are some southern states reluctant to change cannabis laws because they aren’t seeking an economic boost from marijuana tax revenues? We update the marijuana news and legalization progress in southern states.

North Carolina Veterans Organize to Expedite Legalized Medical Cannabis

In 2020, the Departments of Veterans Affairs and Defense stated that cannabis prohibition was the stance of the DEA. But not the position of the VA. But because the VA is a federal body, it was unable to permit physicians from referring military veterans to local state cannabis programs. Or help veterans get a medical card.

However, according to marijuana news, the VA also said that veterans stood no risk of losing their health benefits and services if they chose to get a medical marijuana card. It would not be held against them if they complied with local state laws regarding doctor-supervised use.

While some states have created accessible medical cannabis programs, other states have either not legalized or chosen a more restricted model. One that does not serve the needs of all patients who may benefit from medicinal use.

North Carolina is one of those southern states that has been “dragging its heels” when it comes to legalizing medical marijuana. And a newly formed group of veterans is organized and ready to fight to expedite medical marijuana in their state.
